KOCHI: As part of its efforts to diversifying business, Kochi-based Joyalukkas Group announced the launch of ‘Joy Jets’, a luxury air charter and helicopter service.
Joy Jets will be the first and only service of this kind in Kerala.
In the initial stage, the company offers air charter services to various destinations across India and helicopter tours within Kochi.
Announcing the venture here on Thursday, Joyalukkas Group chairman Joy Alukkas said that Joy Jets air charter would cater to the needs of entrepreneurs, senior business executives and luxury tourists who wish to travel at their convenience and in luxury.
Joy Jets will initially operate a short-range direct service to various destinations across India from Kochi International Airport with a five-seater Embraer Phenom 100 jet aircraft.
The helicopter service, which starts on March 12, targets tourists and residents who would like to have a thrilling aerial view of the city. There will be one hour city tour for tourists. Helicopter service can also be used for handling emergency situations, medical purposes, ferrying of dignitaries, and aerial views of other scenic places in Kerala,” Joy Alukkas said.
He said that the company will acquire a long-range aircraft within six months to offer trips to distant and international destinations.
“We are working towards having a fleet of 4 flights by the end of 2012.
Joy Jets’ day-to-day operation will be managed by a team of experienced professionals.
The team comprises aviators and other professionals of vast experience across various aspects of the aviation business,” he said.
