BSNL Revenue Growth Up 5% in TN Circle

BSNL posted Rs 75 crore more revenue and registered 5 per cent growth when compared to the previous financial year, said Md Ashraf Khan, chief general manager, Tamil Nadu Circle, BSNL, here on Tuesday.
Ashraf Khan also noted that the TN circle had been one of the circles that had been posting Rs 2,000 crore annual revenue generating circles.
“The increase in revenue of the circle was pegged at Rs 75 crore until December 31, 2013 in the current financial year, which suggests that the revenue was growing by about 5 per cent. It is likely that the revenue will grow beyond that as well,” the CGM added.
Earlier, A Balasubramanian, CGM, Chennai Telephones, observed that there was one per cent growth in the revenue in the Consumer Fixed Assets (landlines), and attributed the reason for the increase to charging for the offline calls.
He added that there was about `12 crore increase in Enterprise Business as until December 31, 2013, the revenue had reached Rs 40 crore while the revenue for the same period during the previous year stood at Rs 28 crore.
AN Rai, Director, (Enterprise) and HRD, urged the BSNL employees to discharge their duties to the satisfaction of the customer and organisation.
