CogniCor: Corporates' Favourite Cognitive Virtual Agent

KOCHI: “It may be harder than you think, but at the end it will be a very satisfying and enriching journey. Have a clear-cut vision and don’t underestimate you and your team. Also, focus on your goals, be quick on execution and stay lean cost-wise.” This is the advice that Sindhu Joseph, chief executive officer and co-founder of CogniCor, has to give to young and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Launched in 2012 as a spinoff from one of the top artificial intelligence institutes in Europe, CogniCor’s vision is to resolve customer service issues automatically for large enterprises, enabling them to not only provide delighting customer service, but also reduce operating expenses and customer churn.

“So far, the journey has been challenging as well as an extremely satisfying one. Within the last three years, CogniCor has carved a space for itself in the customer service landspace. With a customer base that include top telecom companies and banks both from Europe and Asia, CogniCor is all set to expand its operations in the global market,” said Sindhu.

An angel-funded company, CogniCor, now, is looking to raise funds from venture capital funds with a strong focus on the enterprise space and artificial intelligence technologies. The company makes use of advanced natural language technologies, machine learning and knowledge management platforms that understand a customer intention and connect to enterprise policies to resolve customer issues dynamically.

“Having worked in academia and large multi-national corporates, we wanted to create something of greater value and impact. This thought, combined with our personal experiences as a consumer, inspired and motivated us to change the state-of-the-art in customer service. Consumers demand and deserve a better service than waiting for hours in a call only to hear that ‘we have created a ticket and you will hear from us soon’. From our experience, we had found a clear need and gap in technologies to provide superior customer service,” says Rosh Cherian, chief technology officer and cofounder of the company.

CogniCor is actively expanding in India and Europe, bagging contracts from well-known brands, thereby establishing a strong presence in telecom and financial services verticals. The company had received the “Most Innovative European Startup” recognition by the European Commission and WIRED print magazine featured Cogni- Cor as one of the hottest startups. CogniCor also received the “Best Emerging Startup Award” in the NASSCOM IT awards 2013.
