HDFC Net Rises 12% to Rs 1,425 cr

MUMBAI: Housing Development Finance Corpn (HDFC) third quarter performance was steady, with net profit rising 12 per cent to Rs 1,425.49 crore. The company provided Rs 87 crore deferred tax liability. Total income rose to Rs 6,871 crore in the quarter from Rs 6,020 crore a year earlier.

Its loan book stood at Rs 2,19,951 crore as of December 31, 2014 compared with Rs 1,92,284 crore a year earlier.  Of the total loans book, loans to individuals formed 72 per cent. About 85 per cent of the incremental growth in loans book over the nine months to December were from individuals. Gross non-performing loans were 0.69 per cent of the loan portfolio, down from 0.77 per cent a year earlier.
