MUMBAI: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex), was on Tuesday trading 44.03 points or 0.16 percent down during the afternoon session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at 13.65 points or 0.16 percent down at 8,446 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,986.92 points, was trading at 27,917.16 points (at 1.12 p.m.) in the afternoon session, down 44.03 points or 0.16 percent from the previous day's close at 27,961.19 points.
The Sensex has touched a high of 27,995.04 points and a low of 27,853.96 points in the trade so far.
