CHENNAI: In a bid to provide credit for the major role being played by the public sector units in order to get the economy in double digit mark, Dun and Bradstreet, global business information provider, on Monday launched the special section on “PSUs: Powering a Resurgent India”.

The edition was released by Coal Secretary Anil Swarup.The winners of Dun & Bradstreet  Top PSUs Award, 2016 were NTPC, ONGC, GAIL, Power Grid Corportation, BHEL, SAIL, NMDCNBCC among others.

Speaking at the release of the publication, Kaushal Sampat, President and Managing Director – India, Dun and Bradstreet said, “This year’s edition covers 172 Central PSUs. The top and bottom line growth of the profiled PSUs in FY15 remained flat as compared to a year ago. Interestingly, Navratnas outperformed Maharatnas and Miniratnas in terms of net profit growth.”

 In FY15, Central Public Sector Enterprises contributed to around 16 percent of the country’s GDP in terms of gross turnover, and provided employment to more than 1.3 million people.
