BENGALURU: Tata Motors on Monday launched its new ‘StyleBack’ Tata Tigor which is all set to build on Tata Motors’ existing passenger vehicle portfolio. At an introductory price of Rs 4.85 lakhs for the Revotron 1.2l (petrol) variant and Rs 5.77 lakh for the Revotorq 1.05l (diesel) variant, the Tigor will be available across the country.

Designed with the best of elements from both the sedan and the hatchback, the car’s target audience is the customer settled into his new job with a couple of pay rises, who is looking to expand his family and wants to make a mark in society. Tata Motors is targeting the customer who wants to upgrade his car for the first time and move to something that imparts more status. After launching the Tiago last year and in just over two months of the Hexa launch, Tata Motors is back with its third car based on the IMPACT design philosophy. Under the IMPACT design, the company wants to recapture the consumer mind space with a design that is absolutely unique.

With a split LED tail lamp, smoked projector headlamps and a cockpit with a layered design theme, the car has dual-tone interiors with premium finish and luxurious patterned seats with bolsters.

Its ConnectNext Touchscreen Infotainment System has been designed by Harman with eight powerful speakers, intuitive app suite and voice command recognition for the automatic climate control, phone and media controls.
“The Tigor embodies changing preferences of today’s milieu that increasingly prefers stylish cars,” said Vivek Srivatsa, head - marketing, passenger vehicle business unit, Tata Motors.  Available in six colour variants and two engine variants, people can choose between Copper Dazzle, Expresso Brown, Pearlescent White, Platinum Silver, Striker Blue and Berry Red. It will come with a standard warranty of two years or 75,000 km, whichever is easier, with an option to further extend.

Tigor is being produced in the Sanand plant of Tata Motors and the company is not looking at the overseas market. With an all-India market share of five per cent, the company had seen a low demand and sales of Zest but the Tiago sales are still going strong with the petrol variant of Tiago contributing in excess of 75 per cent.
