NEW DELHI: Crude oil futures fell Rs 14 to Rs 3,678 per barrel today after participants reduced their exposure in tune with a weak trend in Asian markets.

In futures trade at the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in current month shed Rs 14, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 3,678 per barrel, with a business volume of 1,362 lots.

Oil prices for far-month February delivery moved down by a similar margin to trade at Rs 3,693 per barrel with a business volume of 29 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in crude oil futures was mostly due to trimming of positions at futures trade in tandem with a weakening trend in Asian trade.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down by 22 cents, or 0.38 per cent, to USD 57.14, while Brent fell 23 cents, or 0.36 per cent, to trade at USD 63.17 a barrel.
