CHENNAI: Just a day after the Supreme Court banned the sale of BS-III vehicles from April 1, India Yamaha Motor on Thursday launched new BS-IV and Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) compliant variants of its range of motorcycles and scooters.

According to the company, Yamaha’s Blue Core enabled models like FZ-S FI, FZ FI, Fazer FI and SZ RR have been upgraded to BS IV standards with an AHO feature.

The engine specifications of the variants FZ-S FI, FZ FI and Fazer FI remains unchanged with the same 149 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine.

The SZ RR will continue with a 149 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder carburetor engine. These models have been priced at Rs 82,789 for the FZ-S FI, Rs 80,726 for the FZ FI, Rs 87,935 for the Fazer FI and Rs 67,694 for the SZ-RR. 

Meanwhile, in scooters, the Fascino (Rs 54,330) range has been introduced with newer colour options, and Cygnus Alpha introduced in both disc brake (Rs 54,586) and drum brake (Rs 51,369) variants. Both Fascino and Cygnus Alpha continue with a 113 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2 valve engine.
