NEW DELHI: US-based auto major Ford launched a revamped version of its compact SUV -- EcoSport — priced between Rs 7.31 lakh up and Rs 10.99 lakh. According to the firm, the current version of the SUV has also seen significant increase in localisation.
With around 1,600 changes introduced, the new EcoSport is available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol one is powered by a 1.5-litre engine delivering fuel economy of 17 kmpl and it is priced between Rs 7.31 lakh and Rs 10.99 lakh. The diesel variants are priced between Rs 8.01 lakh and Rs 10.67 lakh with a fuel economy of 23 kmpl.
“The all-new EcoSport reinforces our commitment to the Indian market... We have increased the level of localisation to 85 per cent from 60-65 per cent when the model was first launched in 2013,” Ford India MD and president Anurag Mehrotra said at the launch.
According to the company, the model has managed to remain within its earlier price while coming in with 1,600 changes.
