CHENNAI: Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has reported a decline of 22.92 per cent in net profit at Rs 70.9 crore for the quarter ended September, as compared with Rs 91.99 crore during the same quarter of previous fiscal. Total income of the company grew to Rs 1,854.27 crore during the quarter under review, up from Rs 1,643.54 crore reported during the corresponding quarter of previous year.

“Though Q2 is a seasonally good quarter – this quarter witnessed significant contribution to the growth from new hospitals especially Malleswaram, OMR-Chennai, Vanagaram and Nellore. The focus is to now continue to build on this momentum into the next fiscal especially on the new hospitals,” the company said in a statement. However, the Navi Mumbai hospital posted a loss of Rs 15 crore in the year-ago quarter, primarily due to “losses of Rs 23 crore in H1FY18.”
