Aggarwal's FIR attempt to malign ShopClues' reputation: Co-founders

Radhika Aggarwal and Sanjay Sethi, co-founders of ShopClues, today said the FIR filed by the estranged partner Sandeep Aggarwal is an attempt to malign the reputation of the e-commerce platform.

NEW DELHI: Radhika Aggarwal and Sanjay Sethi, co-founders of ShopClues, today said the FIR filed by the estranged partner Sandeep Aggarwal is an attempt to malign the reputation of the e-commerce platform.

An FIR has been filed against Radhika (Aggarwal's wife) and Sethi on a complaint lodged by Aggarwal, who alleged in a city court that he has been cheated by them. The two have been booked by the police following a specific order of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sandeep Garg to register the FIR against the two co-founders.

"The initiation of the FIR and seeking a media trial is nothing but an attempt by Sandeep Aggarwal to continue to malign the reputation of ShopClues," Sandeep Kapur, Partner at Karanjawala and Co, said. The firm is the legal representative of Radhika and Sethi.

Aggarwal, in his complaint, alleged that his wife and his friend Sethi had conspired together and fabricated several documents to gain control over the company. He claimed that while he was facing charges of insider trading in a separate case in the US, Radhika and Sethi had hatched a criminal conspiracy along with other unknown persons to oust him from his own firm, Shopclues which was launched in India in 2011.

According to the FIR, the FBI and Department of Justice of the USA had in July 2013 booked Sandeep Aggarwal on charges of insider trading, for which he had to remain in that country.
