Astrazeneca Pharma plunges as board defers delisting offer

AstraZeneca Pharma India, an integrated biopharmaceutical company, declined on Thursday after its board of directors deferred the proposed delisting shares.

The company said that boardwill consider the delisting proposal. After discussion, it was decided to seek additional information from the Promoter - AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals AB, Sweden (AZP AB). Pending receipt of such additional information, consideration of the promoter's letter dated Mar. 01, 2014 was deferred.Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs 1,079.30, down Rs 94.35, or 8.04% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 10:51 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 1,099.10 and low of Rs 1,058. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 49,858.In the earlier session, the shares declined 5.26%, or Rs 65.2, at Rs 1,173.65. Currently, the stock is trading down 16.01% from its 52-week high of Rs 1,285 and above 81.39% over the 52-week low of Rs 595.
