Aurobindo jumps on acquisition of select Actavis operations

Aurobindo Pharma, a mid-size pharmaceutical company, jumped on Wednesday after it announced the completion of the previously announced acquisition of certain commercial operations in Western Europe from Actavis. The agreement to acquire the Actavis operations was announced in January 2014.

Aurobindo acquires personnel, commercial infrastructure, products, marketing authorisations and dossier licence rights in seven European countries. Actavis and Aurobindo have also entered into a long term commercial and supply arrangement, the company said. Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs 554, up Rs 19.3, or 3.61% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday at 11:51 a.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 554.40 and low of Rs 535.45. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 431,053.In the earlier session, the shares rose 4.67%, or Rs 23.85, at Rs 534.70. Currently, the stock is trading all time 52-week high, which is above 300.14% over the 52-week low of Rs 138.45.
