Bharti Airtel jumps as S&P upgrades stock to 'BBB'

Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications services provider, jumped on Friday after Standard and Poor's rating services (S&P) upgraded its issuer rating of the company to 'BBB'.

The rating assigned a stable outlook is also above the credit rating outlook assigned to India by S&P, reflecting the company's ability to withstand sovereign stress. Shares ofthe companyare trading at Rs 297.30, up Rs 11.5, or 4.02% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at 12:40 p.m.The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 301.10 and low of Rs 287.60. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 402,710.In the earlier session, the shares climbed 1.06%, or Rs 3, at Rs 285.80. Currently, the stock is trading down 20.4% from its 52-week high of Rs 373.50 and above 11.37% over the 52-week low of Rs 266.95.
