HCC jumps on new order

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) gained on Tuesday after the company in a joint venture with GVPR Engineers bagged an order worth Rs 9.03 billion from Karnataka Neeravari Nigam.

The contract is for diversion of flood water from Sakleshpura (West) to Kolar/Chikkaballapur (East) under Yettinahole diversion project-package-4. HCC's share in the joint venture is 50%. The project will be completed in 36 months.Arun Karambelkar, president and whole time director HCC said, "We are delighted to be associated with this prestigious project that will bring water to parched areas of Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts. HCC as the country's leading company engaged in building infrastructure for India will continue to focus on large magnitude projects in critical sectors like water."

Shares of the company gained Rs 0.8, or 6.06%, to trade at Rs 14.01. The total volume of shares traded was 399,628 at the BSE (10.49 a.m., Tuesday).

The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 14.10 and low of Rs 13.68. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 399,628.In the earlier session, the shares rose 0.61%, or Rs 0.08, at Rs 13.21.Currently, the stock is trading down 14.57% from its 52-week high of Rs 16.40 and above 80.77% over the 52-week low of Rs 7.75.
