Asian markets end lower on fed tapering

Asian markets settled on a negative note on Thursday after theUS Federal Reservedecided to taper its bond-buying program by another USD 10 billion, to USD 55 billion a month.

Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 went down 238.29 points, or 1.65% to close at 14,224.23. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index decreased 386.53 points, or 1.79% to close at 21,182.16.

Taiwan's Taiex index declined 92.13 points or 1.06% to settle at 8,597.33. Singapore's Straits Times index went down 21.99 points, or 0.71% to close at 3,058.76.

South Korea's Kospi index decreased 18.16 points, or 0.94% to end at 1,919.52. China's Shanghai Composite index fell 28.26 points, or 1.40% to settle at 1,993.48.
