Asian stock markets settled lower on Friday.Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 lost 11.17 points or 0.56 percent to settle at 1,997.44. The index has seen a high of 1,997.44 and a low of 1,985.16 after opening at 1,985.28.Nikkei 225's 52-week range was 1,770.53-2,063.28. Currently, the index is up 12.82 percent from 52-week low and down 3.19 percent from 52-week high.While China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite plunged 340.07 points or 2.38 percent to close at 13,960.05. The index has seen a high of 14,065.97 and a low of 13,885.11 after opening at 14,027.80.The Shanghai Composite's 52-week range was 12,415.80-16,320.20. Currently, the index is up 12.44 percent from 52-week low and down 14.46 percent from 52-week high.Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged 112.67 points or 3.13 percent to end at 3,487.76. The index has registered a high of 3,599.64 and a low of 3,479.15 after opening at 3,597.58.Hang Seng's 52-week range was 2,678.79-3,922.73. Currently, the index is up 30.2 percent from 52-week low and down 11.09 percent from 52-week high.Singapore's Straits Times fell 6.25 points or 0.2 percent to end at 3,197.33. The index has seen a high of 3,204.04 and a low of 3,181.78 after opening at 3,188.55.Straits Times' 52-week range was 2,953.01-3,464.79. Currently, the index is up 8.34 percent from 52-week low and down 7.67 percent from 52-week high.South Korea's KOSPI fell 30.17 points or 0.96 percent to end at 3,122.69. The index has witnessed a high of 3,138.24 and a low of 3,119.20 after opening at 3,137.66.KOSPI's 52-week range was 2,511.83-3,168.76. Currently, the index is up 24.34 percent from 52-week low and down 1.44 percent from 52-week high.Taiwan's TAIEX declined 40.05 points or 0.45 percent to end at 8,908.05. The index has seen a high of 8,909.97 and a low of 8,848.24 after opening at 8,900.13.TAIEX's 52-week range was 7,663.23-8,978.52. Currently, the index is up 16.2 percent from 52-week low and down 0.78 percent from 52-week high.
