Indian equities are likely to open flat tracking mixed global
markets on Monday, December 30, 2013. SGX Nifty is trading at 6,375
(07.53 am), 11 points higher than Friday's close of 6,364.
Asian stocks are tradingpositive in early trade on Monday.
Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 rose 0.56% to open at
16,269.22. China's Shanghai Composite opened up by 0.36% at
US stocks declined on Friday. The S&P 500 dipped just 0.62
points, or 0.03%, to 1,841.40. Dow Jones industrial average fell
1.47 points or 0.01%, at 16,478.41. Nasdaq Composite dropped 10.586
points or 0.25%, to 4,156.594.
European markets climbed on Friday. UK's benchmark index FTSE
100 climbed 56.70 points or 0.85% to settle at 6,750.87. French
benchmark index CAC 40 rose 59.24 points or 1.40%, to end at
4,277.65. Germany's benchmark index DAX added 100.57 points or
1.06% to close at 9,589.39.
Crude oil prices end higher on Friday. Light sweet crude oil for
February delivery increased 77 cents, or 0.8% to settle at USD
100.32 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.Brent crude oil
for February settlement rose 20 cents at USD 112.18 a barrel on the
London-based ICE Futures Europe Exchange.
