Indian equities are likely to open lower tracking negative
global markets on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013. SGX Nifty is trading at
5,417.5 (07.25 am), 44 points lower than Monday's close of
Asian stocks are trading negative in early trade on Tuesday.
Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 fell 0.62% to open at
13,551.75. China's Shanghai Composite opened down by 0.05% at
US stocks declined on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
shed 64.05 points or 0.43%, to 14,946.46, the Standard & Poor's
500 index fell 6.72 points or 0.40% to 1,656.78 and the tech-rich
Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.22 points or 0.01% to 3,657.57.
European markets ended mixed on Monday. French benchmark index
CAC 40 fell 2.34 points or 0.06%, to end at 4,067.13. Meanwhile,
Germany's benchmark index DAX added 18.16 points or 0.22% to close
Crude oil prices declined on Monday. Light sweet crude oil for
October delivery slide 50 cents to settle at USD 105.92 a barrel on
the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude oil for October
settlement fell 31 cents, or 0.3% at USD 110.73 a barrel on the
London-based ICE Futures Europe Exchange.
