India stock index futures signal lower open

Indian equities are likely to open lower tracking negative global markets on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. SGX Nifty trading at 6,527.5 (07.34 am), 25 points lower than Tuesday's close of 6,552.5.

Asian stocks are trading negative in early trade on Wednesday. Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 fell 1.45% to open at 15,003.80. China's Shanghai Composite opened down by 0.25% at 1,996.24.

US stocks declined on Tuesday. The S&P 500 lost 9.54 points or 0.51%, to 1,867.63. Dow Jones industrial averagefell 67.43 points or 0.41%, to 16,351.25. Nasdaq Composite dropped 27.26 points or 0.63%, to 4,307.188.

European markets dropped on Tuesday. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 dropped 3.93 points or 0.06% to settle at 6,685.52. French benchmark index CAC 40 fell 21.12 points or 0.48%, to end at 4,349.72. Germany's benchmark index DAX added 42.29 points or 0.46% to close at 9,307.79.

Crude oil prices end mixed on Tuesday. Light sweet crude oil for April delivery decreased USD 1.09 to settle at USD 100.03 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude oil for April settlement rose 47 cents, or 0.4% at USD 108.55 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe Exchange.
