In another case of high profile exits, Infosys director and chief financial officer V Balakrishnan resigned from the company on Friday.

Balakrishnan’s resignation will be effective from December 31, 2013. He joined Infosys, India’s second largest outsourcing company, in 1991. Other than heading Infosys BPO, Finacle and India Business Unit, Balakrishnan also worked as a chief financial officer. He has also served as the chairman of Infosys Lodestone.

Balakrishnan earlier sold 1 lakh company shares of his daughters in the open market last month raising speculations of his exit.

Balakrishnan’s resignation has raised a few eyebrows as seven high profile members have exited from the company after Narayana Murthy joined Infosys in June, 2013, at the time when company’s share were trading at all time high.

Meanwhile Infosys has appointed Kiran Mazumdar Shah, Biocon’s chief, as an independent member. UB Pravin Rao, senior vice president of the company will now serve as the director.
