Essence of Life -- a music and dance performance -- mesmerised audiences and took them on an journey that was enchanting and invigorating at the same time. The performance was held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall recently. The concert explored the deeper existential issues through different dance forms, articulating that the cause and the resolution of all our misery and problems lie in our very own hands. The inspiration of a modern thinker, Jiddu Krishnamurti was brought to life through the performance. The dancers included artists like Kathak dancer Pali Chandra, Japan’s foreman Odissi exponent Msako Ono, NatyaPraveena recipient Rashmi Menon for Mohiniyattam, Bharatnatyam exponent Smitha Madhav, and daughter of Kuchipudi dancer, Vyjayanthi Kashi, Prateeksha Kashi.

These dancers created magic on stage as they emoted beautifully and delivered a message which is vital for our present lives -- to overcome fear, to find inner peace through meditation and remove selfish thoughts to attain complete happiness.

The grand finale, when all the dancers took stage together, was a treat to all those who were present.

Witnessing five different forms of traditional dances together on one stage created a visual treat for the audience.
