BANGALORE: No matter how hard they try, people, once they earn fame in tinsel town, find it difficult to stay away from the glamour world. Recently, model Raghu Mukherjee made a comeback with the film Savaari. Now, Raghuveer is trying the same with the film Ee Preethi Yaarigoskara (meaning, ‘for whom this love?’). Raghuveer is making a comeback after a gap of more than a decade.
Born with a silver spoon, Raghuveer never had to struggle to to act in films. In fact, around 14 years ago, he was the one who gave a chance to director S Narayan to handle the megaphone for Chaitrada Premaanjali. Music director Hamsalekha had provided a lilting music for that film.
With the success of that film, there was no looking back for director Narayan and also for Raghuveer.
Raghuveer went on to act and produce many films, such as Ajay Vijay, Naviloora Naidile, Kaaveri Theeradalli, Shrungaara Kaavya, Thungabhadra, Hongirana, Sangrama, Durga Pooje and’.
Unfortunately, all the films crashed at the box office. “My other film Kaadina Kaggathalu was withdrawn from theatres as soon as it was released. I do not even want to recall the title of this film,” says Raghuveer.
What made him decide to come back to acting in films after the long hiatus? “I was away from films due to personal reasons. After marrying actress Sindhu, who played the heroine’s role in Chaitrada Premanjali and Shrungaara Kaavya, I had to face many problems.
I had to stay away from my parents.
Later, she died of a mysterious illness. After Sindhu’s demise, I married Gowri according to my parents’ wishes. Due to all these incidents, I was compelled to stay away from Sandalwood,” says Raghuveer.
What can the audience expect from his latest film? “It is a romantic story with a backdrop of college campus.
Swathi and I will play college students.
Swathi makes her debut in Kannada with this film. She is the student of Vasavi College at Visveswarapuram,” Raghuveer says.
Did Raghuveer contact director Narayan? “It is me who made him director.
I can’t forgive him for cheating me. I had assigned him to write dialogues for my film Shrungaara Kaavya, but he betrayed me. He plagiarised and made Anuragada Alegalu based on my script,” the actor says.
