Two bike riders were killed in separate accidents in Kamakshipalya traffic police station limits on Wednesday night.
In the first incident, a 19- year-old BE student was killed after he rammed his two-wheeler into a lorry near Sumanahalli.
The student has been identified as Rakesh T K, a resident of Laggere, who was studying in B G S Engineering College.
According to the police, the incident took place around 8 pm when he was going for tuitions. He was allegedly speeding on his bike and rammed into a lorry which was parked in front of a crematorium. He sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead, a police officer said.
In another incident, a 45-year-old man was killed after he drove over a footpath on Malgala service road. Ravishankar P, was a resident of Vrishabhavathinagar in Kamakshipalya. He was a supervisor at Rajarajeshwari Theatre in Mallathahalli.
According to the police, the incident took place around 10 pm when he was returning home. He was speeding on his two-wheeler on the service road. He lost control and went over a footpath. He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
Man Found Dead at Home
A 38-year-old man was found dead at his home in Koramangala IV Block on Thursday morning. Keshav, a bachelor, used to work as a mechanical engineer. However, he had stopped working for the last one year.
Police said he was given to drinking and had not come out of the house for the last four days. His neighbours sensed foul smell emanating from his house, and peeped through a window, to find him lying dead. Later, they informed the police. “The body was decomposed and he might have died three days ago. There are no injuries on his body and foul play behind the incident is ruled out.
We are suspecting that he might have died of cardiac arrest. However, we are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the reason for his death,” the police said. Koramangala police have registered an unnatural death case.
Man Electrocuted
A 40-year-old gardener was electrocuted and another sustained injuries at the HAL Officers’ Enclave in Byayapanahalli police station limits on Thursday. The deceased, Nagesh, was a native of Hoskote. He was working as a gardener for the last 15 years. The injured, Odeshkumar, was admitted to a private hospital.
According to police, the incident took place around 2 pm when Nagesh and Odeshkumar were cutting a tree branch in the compound of a house belonging to Balakrishna, an executive director of HAL. Nagesh died after coming into contact with an electric wire while Odeshkumar was injured, a police officer said. Both are casual employees and coworkers have demanded compensation.
