As the campaign for the by-election to Yercaud Assembly constituency came to an end on Monday evening, Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa said, “Let the result of the by-election be a forerunner to the victory of the AIADMK in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.”

In her appeal to the electorate of Yercaud constituency, the AIADMK supremo said, “I wish the AIADMK’s victory in the by-election be a forerunner to the party’s massive win in the coming Lok Sabha elections since the AIADMK is slated to make revolutionary changes in India.”

Charging that the Congress-DMK combination had pushed the nation into huge confusion by its wrong economic policies and corruption-ridden administration, Jayalalithaa said, “Let the holy duty of throwing out the Congress-DMK led government at the Centre start from Yercaud.”

Jaya said the voters of Yercaud should compare the woes they had undergone during the previous DMK regime and the achievements of the AIADMK government and elect AIADMK candidate P Saroja in the by-election and defeat the DMK candidate to the extent that he loses his deposit.
