Paresh Hazra’s series The Apple and the Lotus will be on display at Gallery Time and Space from December 10 to 30. The theme of the works have been described as ‘contrasting’ but ‘which run parallel to each other’.

Where the lotus is seen to be a ‘poetic symbol of love, purity, wisdom and spiritual illumination’, the apple is ‘a symbol of human desire, lust and unrestrained temptations'.

Terence Lewis and his instructors will conduct a master class that will include Indo-contemporary techniques and tips on December 14, at The Lalit Ashok, Siddhartha Hall.

Marathon

Be ready to get set and go at the Bengaluru Midnight Marathon 2013 on December 14 and 15. The races, there are a variety of them, start from KTPO, Whitefield. Like the Nambiar Builders Community one kilometre relay at 6 pm or the Schneider IT City Fun five km run at 8 pm. The Target 10k run is the ‘dream run’ where the runners rub shoulders with other enthusiasts and fitness ambassadors of the events. Apart from the half marathon and full marathon (42.195 kilometers), which starts at midnight, there’s the women’s relay at 12.15 where teams of eight will run five 5 km each.

UK-based tabla maestro Talvin Singh is on his Tablatronic India Tour and will perform for Bangalore audiences on December 15 at Geoffrey's Lawns in Hotel Royal Orchid, 1 Golf Avenue, Adjoining KGA Golf Course, Old Airport Road. Singh’s show is the finale of 100 Pipers Bangalore Music Week.

Theatre

Sanchari Theatre’s Vanity Bag explores the different  aspects of the poetic world of Vydehi and presents episodes from the life of a woman at Gayana Samaj, K R Road, Basavanagudi on December 14 at 11.30 am.

Vintage car rally For those who enjoy ghazals, here’s the chance to catch some lilting tunes.

Golden Moments With Pankaj Udhas, will feature the eminent ghazal singer performing live at Good Shepherd Auditorium, FM Cariappa Road, Richmond Town on December 15 at 7:30 pm.
