'I have fallen in love with Bangalore'

Even though I moved to the city just six months ago, it features in my ‘best cities of India’ list already. Staying in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, a calm and serene locality, I have not been effected by pollution much. My favourite pastime has become the long walks I go on mostly in the evenings. While roaming around, I often stop to admire the tall buildings, the greenery, the parks. The intense cultural diversity flourishing here mesmerises me. The delightful blend of all seasons throughout the year is unique to this city and one of the main factors why it is among the best cities in the country. The people are very amicable and friendly. The spirit and strength which I see even in seventy year olds inspires me to be bold and forward. The tall and splendid structures of Bangalore are eye-catching. Every street doubles up as an eatery of sorts. Who would want to go to plush restaurants, when street food is so delicious. However, every coin has two sides and Bangalore is no exception. The increasing crime rate in Bangalore is alarming. The ATM thefts and murders have instilled fear, especially in women. Though Bangalore attracts people from various parts of the country, still the knowhow of Kannada is very important. Auto-drivers are hostile if you don’t know the language. Traffic is another problem every Bangalorean faces on a daily basis. Uneven and broken roads only add to the woes. Potholes are death traps, especially for two-wheelers.
