Poster Memories

An extensive poster exhibition on ‘100 years of cinema’ is being showcased at Sulochana Auditorium, Information Department. The exhibition, which was inaugurated on Friday by secretary, Information, K R Niranjan and president of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce H D Gangaraju, represents the journey of Indian cinema from the silent era to the present day of holiday blockbusters and `100 crore cash cows.

Over 100 posters line the auditorium. Those of films like Alam Ara, Achut Kanya, Aurat, Chandralekha, Devdas, Shree 420, , Pakeezah and Sholay have been mounted onto the walls, giving festival-goers a chance to trace the grand history of Indian cinema at one stretch. From recent collections, movies like Lagaan and Fashion were spotted, Fashion being the latest one in the series. The exhibition is open for viewing till January 2, 2014.
