This city has been my home since the year 2007 and I truly feel at peace here. The city takes some time to warm up to but once you do, you feel there is no place better than this to lead a life.
The climate, the warmth of its people and all basic facilities in good measure make it an ideal place to start and nurture a career here.
Being a child specialist specialising in children’s critical care, the technology, infrastructure and skill set available in the medical field is probably the best in the country, making it a sought destination. Patients from all over the country and abroad make a beeline for Bangalore hospitals which provide affordable world class healthcare.
However, there should be more focus on preventable aspects of healthcare. Almost every single day a child loses his life because of unintentional injuries. Dengue raises its ugly head every rainy season.
The chill air dressed with city’s invariable pollution makes it the asthma and allergy capital of the country.
The other thing which is striking in Bangalore are the avenues for anyone pursuing basic to higher education. We should be proud to have so many institutes of excellence in one place.
Sciences, engineering, B-schools, medical colleges, literature, arts, humanities, everything in one city. It is also a city which has nurtured entrepreneurial aspirations of many.
The cultural flavour is fantastic as well - Carnatic classical to rock, Bharatnatyam to contemporary dance - all creating an eclectic mix.
Bangalore has become a melting pot for people from all walks and generations. The language gap is non existent here, it’s Bangalore’s style to welcome its guests.
