32,000 potholes covered, 10,000 left: BBMP

The BBMP on Tuesday said that it has covered 32,401 potholes out of the 42,201 in all its 198 wards.

Chairperson of the BBMP’s standing committee (Ward-level Public Works) A H Basavaraju said that the drive was undertaken from September 25 following orders from the additional commissioner (administration) to chief engineers of all BBMP zones to cover all potholes in the city.

In a press release, the BBMP stated that West Zone had the highest number of potholes (9,995), followed by South Zone with 9,309. There were 8,853 potholes at Rajarajeshwarinagar Zone, while East Zone had 3,500, Bommanahalli 3,430, Dasarahalli, 3,369, Yelahanka 2,738 and Mahadevpura had 1,004 potholes, the press release added.
