Azim Premji varsity’s first convocation

Azim Premji University conducted its first convocation and the first batch of the students received their certificates.

Azim Premji University conducted its first convocation and the first batch of the students received their certificates.

Established in 2010, the university offers programmes and conducts research on education and human development . In the first convocation, 85 students got their certificates. Governor HR Bhardwaj, who is also the visitor of the university was present. 

Azim Premji, the chancellor of the university, presented the degrees.

The university offers masters degree in education and development. A majority of its students hail from rural areas and the university offers financial support up to 50 per cent to them.

“The government needs to invest more on school education and also needs to reform the governance of all the related systems,” said Premji.
