Four unidentified persons allegedly vandalised six cars parked in front of a house at Venkatapuram near Palace Guttahalli at Vyalikaval in the wee hours of Saturday.

Police said that the miscreants may have been in an inebriated state and suspect the involvement of a gang that had damaged eight cars on Kumara Krupa Road in the same manner in June. A police official also raised the possibility of people living in a nearby slum being involved in the incident.

According to a police team on night patrol, which spotted them, the gang arrived at the spot on two motorcycles around 2.30 am. Local residents were not aware of the incident as none of the vehicles had emergency alarms.

The night beat police attempted to chase the miscreants, but could not apprehend them. Police rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident and are investigating.
