Dr K M Cherian, chairman and CEO, Frontier Lifeline Hospital; Sandhya Cherian, director, Frontier Lifeline Hospital; Dr Rakesh Nigam (former IIT professor), head, Department of Research, Alpha Group of Institutions; Dr Grace George, chairperson, Alpha Group of Institutions; Dr Alfred Devaprasad, CEO, Alpha Group of Institutions; Dr M S Matthews, director, Alpha College of Engineering; and Dr Leela Abraham, senior Principal, Alpha Arts and Science College; were present.

After the welcome address by Dr Leela, Dr Nigam presented a brief overview of the research activities at the college. This was followed by the signing of an MoU between the Frontier Lifeline Hospital and the Alpha Group of Institutions

Addressing the gathering, Dr Cherian told students that this research collaboration, if earnestly utilised, would be an enviable opening for the students pursue research as their carrier. Sandhya Cherian inaugurated the activities of ‘Bio-Hues’ and said that this was the golden age of biotechnology and students should be offered comprehensive, integrative and strategic learning methodologies.

Dr Matthews presented the felicitation, saying biotechnology is the youngest department in the world of engineering. He emphasised that students with sufficient passion would definitely have a lead in this field. With the presidential address by Dr Grace George and vote of thanks by Dr Thendral Hepziba, head, Department of Biotechnology, the ceremony came to an end.
