Traders protest against police

Tension prevailed in Akshaynagar in Hulimavu on Wednesday afternoon as many  businessmen and local people protested against the police.

Tension prevailed in Akshaynagar in Hulimavu on Wednesday afternoon as many  businessmen and local people protested against the police. The traders alleged that police did not take any action against a gang of six men who allegedly stabbed a businessman in the locality for not giving ice cream for free.

On Tuesday night, youths identified as Santhosh, Raamu, Mani, Basava, Nandish and Kaathi, had gone to Mamatha Super Market, located in Akshaynagar near Bannerghatta Road and purchased ice cream worth about `180. They had the ice cream there and tried to go away without paying the bill. The owner stopped them and asked them to pay.
