A short-duration monsoon session of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will begin on October 23. The announcement came through a notification issued by Assembly secretary AML Jamaludeen on Monday.
The notification carried the order of Governor K Rosaiah who summoned the Assembly on October 23 with the power vested under section 174 of the Constitution.
Sources said the Assembly was likely to be adjourned immediately after meeting on October 23 condoling the death of Yercaud MLA C Perumal. The Business Advisory Committee will then meet and decide the duration of the session, which might last close to a week.
