The 16th edition of the state’s annual Information Technology conference is scheduled to begin at the Lalit Ashok Hotel in the city on Tuesday.

However, the organisers, including the IT, BT and S&T Department of the State Government have decided to change the name of the event to Bangalore ITE.biz from Bangalore IT.biz from this year.

The two-day conference will include talks by Union Minister Jaipal Reddy, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Union Minister of State Shashi Tharoor and others.

This year’s conference will have a special thrust on electronics system design and manufacturing, a statement from the organisers said. There will be a full day track on ESDM and the lead talk will be delivered by Chief Controller of DRDO K D Nayak. Sessions will also be held by industry body NASSCOM.

Other highlights include a CEOs’ conclave, IT Secretaries’ meet and a tradeshow with over 115 exhibitors including IT majors and startups. The tradeshow is expected to attract around 5000 visitors.
