In a complete turnaround, the examination department officials of Bangalore University (BU) have pulled up two city colleges over the erroneous BBM and BCom second semester results announced recently.

R K Somashekar, Registrar (Evaluation) of Bangalore University alleged that Seshadripuram College and MLA College did not comply with evaluation norms.

“Seshadripuram College principal Prakash (examination custodian) was not co-operative and he was irresponsible. They have not evaluated two bundles of second semester BCom answer scripts,” said Somashekar.

He accused custodian of MLA college Nagarathna of not returning re-valuation scripts of November 2012 examinations. “They are not even ready to return them without evaluating,” he claims.

Meanwhile, the varsity has decided to take the legal route and will soon issue show-cause notices to both colleges and blacklist the custodians. “If necessary we will form a committee to conduct an inquiry. Because of them, we are answerable to students and the results of the two bundles which were not evaluated have not yet been declared,” said Somashekar.

When questioned, BU Vice-Chancellor B Thimme Gowda said the custodians were selected as they had a clean record in previous examinations.

College Responds

Dr Prakash, principal of Seshadripuram College, denied the allegations. “We have completed our responsibility and handed over all valued scripts to the university two months ago,” he said.
