Students battle it out at annual sports meet

The 44th annual sports meet of Valliammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar East, was held recently.

The 44th annual sports meet of Valliammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar East, was held recently.

S Selvarasu, international volley ball player and gold medallist in the Asian and World Railway Championship, received the salute for the opening march past. He then hoisted the flag and lit the torch.

Various events were conducted for both boys and girls. Parents too actively involved themselves in the special and separate games which were organised.

Students from Classes 5-12 demonstrated excellent performances in the drill, pyramid, karate, pillow dance and kolattam.

The chief guest advised the parents and teachers to work hand in hand to mould students into responsible citizens and to build a confident future generation.

Pandian House won the maximum points. The trophy for the best display of march past was presented to Cheran House. The chief guest distributed the prizes to the winners.

Finally the Valliammal school flag was brought down by sport secretary P Akash of Class 12 and handed over to the chief guest.
