A seven-year-old girl was killed when she was run over by a lorry after she fell off the two-wheeler she was riding pillion. The two-wheeler had hit an unscientific road hump near Muneshwara temple in Attibele on Monday.
According to police, Shwetha was travelling to school with her father. When the bike crossed the hump, it lost balance and Shwetha fell down. She was run over by a lorry that was coming from behind. The police have seized the lorry.
The incident took place on the Anekal-Attibele Road maintained by PWD. Local residents have been complaining that there are many potholes on this stretch.
Y Shivanna, Anekal MLA, assured that the hump would be removed and a proper one put in its place. “I will call PWD officers and get it done. These things will have to be attended to urgently,” he said. ENS
