Cops Crack Robbery Case, Recover Rs 16L

BANGALORE: Bommanahalli Outpost police on Saturday arrested an ex-employee of a finance company for robbery. The accused had thrown chili powder into the eyes of a cash collector and escaped with a bag containing `16.6 lakh on September 29.

Police said the accused, identified as Vincent (29), a resident of Begur, was working as a manager in the management department of the company and had resigned a few months ago. He had started farming in his native and taken huge loans from private financiers. To come out from financial crisis, he hatched the robbery plan.

As he knew the movement of all cash collectors of the company, he learnt that Jaffer, an agent of the company, had come to collect cash from a mart on Hosur Road on September 29. Around 12.30 pm, he went to the spot in his car and when Jaffer came out from the mart with the cash bag, he robbed the cash bag. Jaffer managed to note down the registration number of the car and filed a complaint. Based on the details police nabbed Vincent and recovered the money.
