BANGALORE: Hundreds of people protested in front of the Doordarshan office at R T Nagar and shouted slogans against BJP and Doordarshan officials for using the channel as a platform to telecast RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s speech live from Nagpur.

“Even speeches from the Parliament are telecast 10 minutes late. But the RSS chief’s speech was telecast live,” said S Promodh Shanker, a Youth Congress member.

“Is an RSS speech more important than a parliamentary session? Why did DD have to stoop to the level of covering an RSS programme?” he added.

Members of the Dalit Sangharsha Samiti and Tippu United Front also demanded an explanation from the Deputy Director General, (Engineering) about the move and submitted a memorandum seeking a probe.
