'Cops Reluctant to File Complaints'

BANGALORE: The Assistant Commissioner, BBMP (Advertisements), has alleged that some policemen are reluctant to register complaints regarding illegal hoardings, banners and flexes put up during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangalore.

The reply comes after Upa Lokayukta Justice Subhash B Adi directed the Assistant Commissioner to take action against those who put up illegal hoardings during the PM’s visit.

BBMP officials claim police officers are refusing to mention certain names who have political influence and in some cases also striking off names from the FIR. The Upa Lokayukta has contacted Police Commissioner M N Reddi who has in turn deputed the Additional Commissioner (Crime) to look into the matter. The ACP said action will be taken against the erring police officers and will direct them to take action according to the law.
