BANGALORE: A breast cancer screening project being conducted by a city-based NGO has completed one year.
Doctors of Poornasudha Cancer Foundation’s mobile unit, which is equipped with a mammography kit, identify suspect cases with the help of a questionnaire and get the women to get a mammogram that allows doctors to detect cancer early.
Dr Sudhindra, an oncologist and co-founder of the Trust, is assisted by his wife Poornima in this work. Screening is free for underprivileged women.
