BANGALORE: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Friday raided a finance agency at Cubbonpet and arrested four men for indulging in hawala transactions. They seized Rs 11.48 lakh from the accused.
The arrested are Guruswamy, Ashish Takur, Kumar and Manoj. The police said they were running a ‘branch’ of a finance firm called Manojbai Agency in the city. They were transferring hawala money. Based on a tip-off, CCB raided the agency and the men were caught transferring a sum of Rs 1 lakh. They were charging Rs 300 a transaction.
