BANGALORE: The police department is celebrating the second Saturday of every month as Women’s Day. The initiative that started last month, is an effort to make women more comfortable with the cops in their area.
“Social workers, organisations and women in general are encouraged to visit these areas and talk about any general problems they may be facing in the area without really filing a complaint,” said Alok Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order).
Over the next few weeks, the department will also be putting up flexes and holding awareness campaigns in schools and colleges to create awareness on what can be done in case of a dangerous situation.
