Transgender Held for Woman’s Murder

BANGALORE: A 32-year-old woman was strangled to death by a transgender at Nellurahalli in Whitefield on Sunday.

The police said the victim, Manjula of Gouribidanur, had separated from her husband, a scrap dealer in the area. Around 9.30 pm the accused, 28-year-old Vaishali of Nellurahalli, allegedly took Manjula to a nearby playground and the duo quarrelled over money. Vaishali strangled Manjula and fled from the scene.

On Monday morning, passersby noticed Manjula’s body and alerted the Whitefield police who later arrested Vaishali. The police said during interrogation, Vaishali confessed that Manjula was murdered as she was into prostitution and was troubling Vaishali by not sharing money.

3 Injured  in Accident

Three men were severely injured after a speeding lorry hit three vehicles and then led to chain accidents at Kottigepalya on Magadi Road on Monday. The negligence driving of the lorry driver has been blamed for the accident.

The injured are identified as Rudraprakash, (54), Akshay, (27) and Shivanand, (24). The police said that the accident occurred around 4.30 pm when a speeding lorry, which was driven in reckless manner, hit Innova car and then rammed into a canter and a mini bus. Three men, who were in separate vehicles, received severe injuries and they were rushed to nearby hospital. Their condition is said to be stable.  Kamakshipalya traffic police have seized the lorry and arrested its driver. 

6-yr-old Mowed Down by Tanker

A six-year old girl who was mulled down by tanker died on the way to hospital near Tanisandra of Chikkajala police station limits on Sunday evening.  Lakshmi daughter of Shankrappa was playing on the ramp infront of the house when a water tanker passed and she came under the back wheels.

Tanker driver Venkatesh was arrested and Chikkajala police have registered a case.
