17 Cases Against Gurumurthy

BANGALORE : A total of 17 cases have been registered against K T Gurumurthy, the  owner of Shrushti Global Medical Care and Charitable Trust.

Gurumurthy was arrested recently after Don Bosco, a resident of Nandini Layout, alleged that he had promised him a baby through surrogacy. However, later Gurumurthy handed over a baby boy, which Bosco confirmed through a paternity test, was not his. Following Gurumurthy’s arrest and keeping in mind previous allegations against him, the police had asked the public cheated by him to come forward and file complaints. Joint Commissioner of police (Crime) Hemant Nimbalkar said that he had received numerous calls complaining about Gurumurthy. He said he directed them to Nandini Layout police station or Kamakshipalya police station to register their complaints. “We have registered at least 17 cases of cheating against Gurumurthy. In numerous cases, women have complained that Gurumurthy took anywhere between `1 lakh and `3 lakh promising a child born of IVF, but were cheated. We are investigating,”  Nimbalkar said.

Meanwhile, Nandini Layout police are gathering details of those who provided their services to Gurumurthy as surrogate mothers to find out who the mother of Don Bosco’s child is.
