School Students Win Gold in Skating

VELLORE: Two students of Sunbeam Matriculation School won gold medals in the Southern Regional Skating Championships held in Hyderabad. The event was organised by the CBSE schools network.

According to school chairman Harigopalan, Akshitha from the CBSE school won the gold medal in the below-eight category, while S Varshini won gold in the below-10 category.

He said students from CBSE schools in eight States participated in the regional level contest in which 49 boys and girls in the below-eight category and 20 boys and girls in the below-10 category participated.

“The students will be taking part in the national level competition shortly. The school will be honouring both students with cash prizes and a citation,” Harigopalan said.

Both students are being coached at a private skating centre in Vellore.
