BANGALORE : Deputy Chairman of the State Legislative Council Puttanna demanded the State government to review the salaries proposed for teaching and non-teaching staff of private aided and unaided schools in the draft fee structure.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Puttanna said the government has proposed very poor salaries for teaching and non-teaching staff and termed it illogical and unscientific.

“Nobody can lead their lives with salaries of `13,000 for teaching staff and `1,000 for ayahs is illogical. To live in a city like Bangalore, they need a minimum pay and the government must fix it on par with what they are paying government school teachers,” he added. He also said that he will file an objection to the fee draft.
